The Guarantee Bank of Hesse is an institute aimed at promoting the setting-up of new companies and businesses in the state of Hesse. It provides guarantees for founders, entrepreneurs and/or companies in favour of commercial banks, if their projects to be financed are meaningful and promising.

The shareholders of the Guarantee Bank of Hesse are the Hessian Credit Industry, Chambers of Crafts, Chambers of Industry and Commerce, numerous professional associations and an insurance company. The Federal Republic of Germany and the State of Hesse assume part of the risk by means of a state counter-guarantee.
