Utpal has been part of the FS Impact Finance team
since December 2016
and is responsible for South Asia primarily India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. He has forged partnerships with socially responsible MFIs and currently India stands among the top five countries in investment for the GLS MicroFinance fund.
Utpal is a development banker with more than a decade experience in the domain of financial inclusion and agriculture finance. He started his career with BASIX, a livelihood promoting organisation.
His experience includes working with the public sector as well as the private sector. He has managed large scale financial inclusion projects at SIDBI funded by UKAID, worked with multiple channels and products in agricultural finance with private banks.
Utpal has a Bachelor in Physics from the University of Ranchi and a Master of Business Administration from Institute of Rural Management, Jaipur. He enjoys reading books, listening to music and leisurely vacating with his family.
