Gerardo Talavera

Investment Manager

I am passionate about working on impact investments to help low-income people improve their quality of life.

Gerardo joined the FS Impact Finance team in January 2020
and is based in Nicaragua.

He is an investment manager focused on all aspects of investing into and managing relations with microfinance institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. His main responsibilities include business development, leading investment due diligence, and preparing investment proposals.

Before joining FS Impact Finance, Gerardo worked for twelve years at U.S.-based impact investor Global Partnerships, including nine years as portfolio director. He carried out more than 90 due diligence assessments of microfinance institutions and social enterprises in eight countries of Latin American and Africa, acquiring extensive field experience in the evaluation of investment risks, financial performance, social impact and governance.

Gerardo completed his Master in Business Administration at INCAE Business School and graduated there from the Senior Management Program of Microfinance Institutions. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the Universidad Iberoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnologia.

Gerardo loves spending time with his family, serving other people and walking.
